Toys for Tots

CraftySasha

This past weekend was a toy drive at a local paintball field where my husband likes to play. They were accepting toys to donate to Toys for Tots, and if you donated you get free entry and gear rentals. This is a great deal!

Since my husband was going anyway, and I like to tag along and hang out between their rounds, I decided to go as well. I tend to take some chainmail supplies with me, so I have stuff to do, which usually generates interest, and sometimes sales. This gave me and idea.

We got the OK from the field for me to setup a table at the event, and I planned to donate a portion of the proceeds to Toys for Tots. It was kind of fun, and I had a small table setup with just a few items. I didn't want to go all out because most items I have don't do well with this type of crowd, anyway.

All in all, I did have some fun, but let me tell you... it was cold! Luckily, with the sun shining on me, that helped. Had it been any colder or had there been any wind, I would have packed up and just sat in the car until my husband was done playing. It wouldn't have been the first time.

I did have only one sale, but it was a good one, so I was able to donate an additional $25 to Toys for Tots (in addition to the $150 in toys that we gave).
