Crochet Patterns

Did you know that I also make and sell crochet patterns?
When I started selling things online, I began with Etsy. After I got this website, I decided to split things. I took all of my physical items to this site, but I left all of my crochet patterns on Etsy. I did this mainly because Etsy has the process streamlined for digital purchases, along with the customer base that I need for those. I have kept my crochet stuff separate from my chainmail and convention items. I am going to start advertising my patterns on social media, though, so I wanted to put this out there as to why.
Until now, I have relied on Etsy for advertising and bringing in the customers for my patterns. This has been OK. For a long time (around the time that I stopped blogging and social media updates) I didn't make any more patterns, and just brought in the residual income from selling those patterns. A few months ago, though, I just came back with a vengeance. I have listed about 40 patterns in the last few months, and it has been wonderful for me. I use the pattern making as a form of stress relief, and it just makes me happy that others like my patterns, too.
Last month, one of my customers who purchased and crocheted the pattern up posted in a crochet Facebook group a picture of the completed item. She was so very kind enough to include a link to my shop where others can purchase the pattern, as well. This resulted in a big spike of sales from that one pattern. It was one of my newer ones, as well, so I was over the moon. In one month, I had sold 34 copies of that specific pattern, plus any others that were bought from people looking around my shop.
Now that I have seen the potential of social media, I am going to start advertising my patterns on Facebook and Instagram, so if you see them there from time to time, don't be alarmed. This is all in addition to my normal chainmail and convention stuff!
Here is that picture of the completed crochet project.
