Did you miss me? I know, I haven't been posting much for a while. I have been dealing with some personal things on my end, and my convention/website/blog posts/everything extra has taken a back seat lately. I lost my mom and my grandma pretty close together, so I have been dealing with that.
After taking some time off from attending conventions following the passing of my mother, I am finally feeling ready to step back into the vibrant world of fandoms, creativity, and community. This journey of returning is both exciting and emotional, and I want to share some thoughts on how I’m preparing for this new chapter.
Setting Goals for My Return
Reconnect with Friends: I’m looking forward to catching up with friends I haven’t seen in a while. Conventions are a great place to strengthen those bonds.
Explore New Ideas and Events: I want to embrace new options for booth setup and to look into new events that I haven't done before.
Participate in Workshops: I’m considering holding workshops in some conventions to share my knowledge of chainmail with others, so we can all get hooked on this wonderful craft!.
Preparing Emotionally
Returning to conventions can be overwhelming, especially since I am having to not only rebuild a large inventory, but also am redesigning my booth setup. I’m taking steps to ensure I’m prepared:
Setting aside time to work on my chainmail: Making sure that I take the time to actually work on things so that I can build up my inventory.
Setting Boundaries: I’ll be mindful of my limits, ensuring I take time off when needed to avoid feeling overwhelmed.
Creating New Table setup: I plan to create a whole new booth design with new displays and new ways to showcase everything. I want to have more focus on chainmail, as well.
Looking Forward to the Experience
As I prepare to dive back into the convention scene, I’m excited about the possibilities that await. The energy, creativity, and sense of fun that conventions provide are something I’ve missed dearly. This journey is not just about returning; it’s about embracing the memories of the past while looking forward to new experiences.
Here’s to new adventures, cherished memories, and the joy of reconnecting with a community that feels like home!
